Weather Advisory: Snow /Sleet for February 25, 2015 | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

    Good Morning:

    Please find current updated PDF from the NWS Newport. The only caution I would give is that if the track moves our way 20 miles we will see more snow than freezing rain or sleet. All roads in Beaufort County are Ice to Snow covered as reported by the Highway Patrol, NC DOT and the undersigned who have been out on them this morning. The primary roads may appear to be clear, however, black ice is everywhere. It will warm up to today and by mid-afternoon most roads that get direct sunlight should at least be wet to dry.

    For EOC partners if you can safely get to the EOC we will participate in a NWS Webinar at 10:00am this morning. This briefing will update us on the NWS approach to this Winter Storm. Use caution when driving today, wherever you may go!
