Deborah Allen Tate | Eastern NC Now

    Deborah Allen Tate, age 63, a resident of East Main Street in Plymouth, NC passed away on April 23, 2015. Ms. Tate was born in Plymouth, NC on July 12, 1951 to the late C. Bruce Allen and June Daniels Horton, who survives.

    She was a graduate of Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC. On August 19, 1996, she married Walter Tate, Jr. who preceded her in death. She was a caregiver and in her leisure time, she enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, decorating and making her grandchildren happy.

    In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughter, April Luke Ballance (Freddy) of Washington, NC and son, John Brenton Luke of Greenville, NC; step-daughter, Renell Tate of Greenville, NC; two step-sons, Walter Tate, III of Texas and Sherwin Tate of Washington, NC; her grandchildren: Kayla, Lily, Caitlin, Brielle, Austin, Tyler, Jalyssa, Cheyanne, Joel and Tanner. Other survivors include one sister, Carla Mathias of Arizona and one brother, Thomas "Tommy" Horton of Bath, NC.

    In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Calvin B. Allen, Jr. and her beloved step-father H.L. "Jack" Horton.

    A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Blake Horton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
