Helen Harris Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Helen Harris Boyd, age 86, a resident of 20082 Hwy. 32 North, Plymouth died Sunday evening May 31, 2015 at her home.

    A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday June 4, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Marty Alligood. The family will receive friends at her home.

    Mrs. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on November 28, 1928, daughter of the late Delma Thomas Harris and Lucy Irene Swindell Harris. She married Lawrence L. Boyd, Jr. who preceded her in death on April 2, 1998. Mrs. Boyd was manager of the Giant Discount Store in Plymouth. She was a member of the Pinetown Church of Christ.

    Mrs. Boyd is survived by two daughters: Judy Boyd Holland and husband Waverly of Washington and Teresa Boyd Respess of Plymouth; two grandchildren: Amanda Holland of Pinetown and Buddy Holland and wife, Stephanie of Port Hueneme, CA; three great grandchildren: Elizabeth Holland of Pinetown, Carson Ingalls of Pinetown and Faith Holland of CA; and three sisters: Dot Respess of Pinetown and Verna Boyd and Lois Mercer both of Washington. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Tommy Harris and son-in-law: Bernard Respess.
