Dr. James Evans | Eastern NC Now

    Dr. James G. Evans, age 67, a resident of Bath, N.C. died Saturday August 8, 2015 at his home after a long illness.

    Dr. Evans was born in Fayetteville, N.C. and grew up in Tidewater Virginia. After attending and obtaining his degrees at the University of Virginia and VCU-Medical College of Virginia he practiced family medicine for over thirty years in Virginia Beach at Holland Road Family Practice, which he co-founded with his partner Dr. Stephen B. Stroud. They were later joined by Dr. Allen R. Fenderson and Dr. Mark R. Winters.

    Dr. Evans is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Susan M. Evans; his older son Bryce Ellis and his wife Gina of Washington, N.C.; his mother Anna Lee Evans of White Oak, N.C.; his sister Patricia Evans Clark of Charlotte, N.C.; and two granddaughters Olivia Allen Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA; and Vivian Belle Evans of Washington, N.C. He is preceded in death by his father, Rexford J. Evans; his sister, Dianna Evans Knotts and his younger son, Yates Alan Evans.

    Following cremation and private services, there will be placement of ashes at a later date.
