A Primer on Playing the Ancient Game of Keno | Eastern North Carolina Now

Most Keno rules are a selection of 20 numbers from a field of 80 numbers. You can decide how many "pick" numbers you want to play.

If you have ever played, Keno you know the best way to lose is to play the game. The best way to win is not to play the game. However, if you are going to play you need to play your lucky numbers. That means that when you hit it is your lucky numbers but if you do not hit it is because that damn computer knows you are playing and manipulating the winning numbers. (Liberal)

It is kind of, like how Stan manipulates the placement of The Reverend Gene's post on BCN so no one can find his most earnest post.

I base my favorite Keno numbers on a complicated algorithm that I carefully devised based on a study of my own history. It consists of four numbers. The month, day, year of my birth, and 68. 68 is the year that I was not killed in Vietnam. That has to be a lucky number.

The Chinese invented KENO and they used a complicated algorithm to devise odds that precluded my lucky four numbers from ever hitting while I am playing. Everyone knows how devious they can be (Stereotyping). Long before the game became a barroom favorite with LCD monitors strategically placed, they had a system that guaranteed that your four numbers would hit while you were sitting there looking but not playing the game.

Gamblers are a lot like fishermen, they tend to lie. If you ask a gambler how he is doing, he will tell you about that time he hit it big on one game or the other. It is kinda like my post of occasionally bumping into celebrities in my life's journey.

Because of my training and OCD tendencies, I keep detailed records of the money played and won. My total winnings over the last few years are around 30%. That is 30 cents won for every Dollar spent. I probably should run for office, but I am sure someone would dig up some of my post here and the would doom any chance I had of being elected. Even if I scrubbed my hard drive of all the post and near post, there surely has to be a record somewhere that is recoverable.

Here is the best advice I can give on winning when playing a game of Chance.
