    Mrs. Elizabeth Cowell Jones, age 91, of Washington, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

    Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd.

    Mrs. Jones was born in Pamlico County on March 10, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Amos and Sina Cooper Cowell. Mrs. Jones was a retired in home day care provider. She was a member of the Wanoca Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Ladies Circle and a past Sunday school teacher. In her spare time, Mrs. Jones enjoyed crocheting and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    On November 3, 1946, she married John Thomas "Tommy" Jones, who preceded her in death, March 30, 1984.

    Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jones Everett and her husband, James of Pinetown; two grandsons, Leslie Everett and wife, Tammie of Ayden, Jeffery Everett and wife Sherry of Washington; granddaughter, Vanessa Perry and husband, Paul of Washington; six great grandchildren, Chelsea, Bailey, Jacob and Braeden Everett, Matthew and Caden Perry; sister, Delilah Rhue Morton of Beaufort; and raised like a daughter, Belinda Weinbrecht and husband, Harold of Cary.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a grandson, James Everett, Jr.; sister, Laura Nobles Rothrock; and four brothers, Hugh, William, Cecil and Talmadge Cowell.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
