After fourty eight years, Sargent Friday still has some relevance.

Maybe the only difference between 1967 and now are the rebels who were so dissatisfied with the world then are professors who are brainwashing our college students or in office and still trying create a new world by fiat and ignoring the basic principles this country was founded upon. Some may even be on network TV telling us how dumb we are to adhere to the founding principles.

Dragnet may have been a bit too straight for the sixties revolution and Jack Webb may have appeared to be way out of touch. But his three minute "sermonette" (my mothers favorite way to teach a short lesson) in this clip still has some relevance even today.

But fortunately we don't have to look far to find a modern day Sargent Friday, except he is the Sheriff of Milwaukee County David Clarke and instead of a suit he proudly wears the uniform of a policeman. This second clip may be more germane to today and as such if you are only to watch just one the second is the best. It is 13 1/2 minutes long but probably a good lesson for today's environment.
