The College of The Albemarle COAST Players are producing the classic story of To Kill A Mockingbird at the Performing Arts Center in Elizabeth City, October 22 - 25. The cast is made up of 26 talented actors. The show is being directed by Jeffrey Emmerich, drama director, and Associate Professor at College of The Albemarle.

To Kill A Mockingbird has been studied in schools for decades and is being brought to life in this stage production at College of The Albemarle October 22 - 25, 2015. The play is set in the 1935 in the fictitious town of Maycomb, Alabama where attorney Atticus Finch, widowed father of two young children, defends a black man falsely accused of attacking a white woman. Atticus instills in his children the traditional values of respect for others, loyalty, responsibility and integrity. The story is told through the eyes of a narrator (the adult version of Scout).

Generations of Americans have studied and learned from this extraordinary story. Audiences will no doubt enjoy this rendition of the familiar story.

According to Jeffrey Emmerich, director of the production, "The story is familiar but the retelling is fresh and powerful. The actors have worked hard the past two months to an incredible end.
