Obituary: Wilbur “Bud” Grizzard, Jr. | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Wilbur “Bud” Grizzard, Jr., age 71, a resident of 6443 Cherry Run Road, Washington died Tuesday August 16, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday August 19, 2011 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Rev. Jack Franks.

    Mr. Grizzard was born in Greene County, NC on April 29, 1940, son of the late Wilbur Grizzard, Sr. and Camilla Tabitha Clayborne Grizzard. He served his country in the U.S. Army. On August 19, 2002, he married the former Arselita Palangco who survives. Mr. Grizzard was owner/operator of Star Glass Company.

    In addition to his wife, Arselita of the home, he is survived by his daughters: Wanda Young of Atlanta, GA, Heather “Teresa” Edgell of Jacksonville, Renee Bowman and husband Rick of Jacksonville, Melissa Perryman of Michigan, Chrystal Grizzard of Greenville and Valerie Lewis and husband Wayne of Washington; his son: Johnny Grizzard of Tampa, FL; his brothers: Billy Grizzard and wife Ruby of Greene County and Donald Grizzard and wife Linda Faye of Greenville; his sisters: Shirley Culverson of Alabama, Ethel West of Greenville, Frances Glisson and husband David of Grimesland and Faye Hardy and husband Jerry of Greenville; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Ray Grizzard and Joseph Grizzard.
