Obituary: Martin Luther Sutton | Eastern NC Now

    Martin Luther Sutton, 87, a resident of Ernul, died Friday, August 19, 2011.

    The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

    Mr. Sutton was a native and lifelong resident of the Ernul community of Craven County. All his life he farmed and logged, and was a member of Unity Christian Church.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Roger Lee and James Luther Sutton.

    He is survived by his: wife of 65 years, Daisy Arthur Sutton; son, William Earl Sutton and wife, Sonja; daughter, Linda S. Jones and husband, Linwood, all of Ernul; grandchildren, Crystal S. Swindell and husband, Shane, Eric Jones, Jeremy Jones and wife, Leigh Ann, Page Sutton, William Earl Sutton, Jr. and wife, Nicole, and Roger Sutton, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zoey, Dakota, Jaylin, Dawson, Caleb, and Carter.

    The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. to7 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
