News Release:

Attention all Arts of the Pamlico stakeholders!

Thanks to each and everyone who showed up at the City of Washington 2/8/16 Council meeting! Your presence made a difference, and I think we made a good case for not only continued funding, but also increased funding.

 Now the real work begins.

You can still make a difference as Council begins deliberations of the City budget for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.

AOP asks that all stakeholders take a moment to contact each Council member and express your support for arts council funding. The best way to do this is with a phone call. It is direct and personal. The next most effective way to contact Council is with a letter. And, of course, you may also send an email.

We ask that you tell your story from a personal vantage point — as a patron, as a supporter, as an artist, as the parent of a child who has benefited from one of our youth programs, as a business owner — all of these points of view matter. Be respectful and considerate. Remember, you are advocates, not activists.

Thank you again for your support, and for letting our City leaders know that the ARTS WORK for Washington and Beaufort County!

  • Sincerely,
  •  Joey Toler
  •  AOP Executive Director
