    On March 7, 2016 at 5:35 AM, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle in the Pamlico Village neighborhood. Deputies responded, began an investigation, and collected evidence. Deputies conducted a neighborhood canvas which revealed ten unlocked vehicles were entered in the Pamlico Village community. A total of approximately $1,300.00 worth of property was reported stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

    The Sheriff's Office wants to remind citizens to lock their vehicles and secure other valuables on their property in an effort to help deter criminal activity. The use of motion activated lights is another way to deter property crime. And as always if anyone observes or suspects any criminal activity, they are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency.

    Communities interested in finding ways to help keep their neighborhood safe or starting a Community Watch program can contact Lt. Kelly Cox with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office at (252) 946-7111 to schedule a meeting. The purpose of the Community Watch program is to help deter and protect property in a neighborhood.

Call (252) 974-6400; text a tip anonymously by dialing 274637 on a cell phone and in the body of the message, type BCSO131 and the tip; or submit a tip through the Crime Stoppers website, www.beaufortcountycrimestoppers.com, by following the "Tip Line" link and filling out an online form. Calls, texts and emails are anonymous. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000.00 for information that leads to an arrest or the recovery of property in this case. Tipsters do not have to give their name to receive a reward.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway juvenile and her 15 month old son. 17-year-old Nevaeh Nicole Tanjaya Harvey was last seen on 08/08/2025 around 2:00 PM, leaving her residence on South White Post Rd. in Pinetown NC with her 15 month old son.
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 2:45 AM, Jamyah Hale was located at a residence in the Washington city limits by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office and the Washington Police Department.
