Obituary: Charlotte Marie Bland Hodges | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Charlotte Marie Bland Hodges, age 85, a resident of 415 E. 12th St., Washington, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 13, 2011, at her home.

    A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Pinewood Cemetery in Greenville officiated by Steve Hill.

    Mrs. Hodges was born in Martin County on Jan. 17, 1926, daughter of the late John David Bland and Irene Sampson Bland. On Dec. 7, 1946, she married Mack Preston Hodges Sr. who survives. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker.

    In addition to her husband, Mack Hodges of the home, she is survived by her son: Mack Preston Hodges Jr. and wife Rebecca of Washington; her daughter: Linda Hodges Woolard and husband, Roland R. Woolard Jr. of Washington; her grandchildren: Jennifer Hodges; Michael P. Hodges and wife Amanda, all of Washington, Derek A. Woolard and wife Connie of Leland, N.C., and Brad P. Woolard and wife Jennifer; her great-grandchildren: Chelsea Lilley of Washington, Haley Hodges of Grimesland and Dylan Woolard of Leland; her sister: Clara Bland Williams of Greenville; and her brothers: Dallas O. Bland and Robert Bland, both of Live Oak, Fla., and John Paul Bland of Winterville, N.C. She is preceded in death by six brothers.

    The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3219 Landmark St., Unit 9, Greenville, NC 27834.
