Christie Whitesell | Eastern NC Now

    Ms. Christie Davenport Whitesell, age 46, a resident of Tangueray Drive, Smithfield, NC, and a former resident of Hwy 32 North Pinetown, NC, died on April 5, 2016 at her parent's home after an unexpected illness.

    Christie was born June 4, 1969 in Virginia Beach, VA to Linda Harris Davenport and Wayne Kersey Davenport whom survive her. Christie was a graduate of the 1987 class of John A Wilkinson High School in Belhaven, NC and was a 1989 graduate of Beaufort Community College with a degree in cosmetology.

    Christie was employed with D' Christies Salon in Clayton, NC for the past five years. Christie enjoyed growing flowers, decorating her home, trips to the beach, and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her brother Jeremy L. Davenport on July 20, 2015. Surviving in addition to her parents are her children Kayla Shea Whitesell and Canyen Wayne Whitesell, three brothers, Michael W. Davenport of Gatlinton, TN, Timothy D. Davenport of Atlantic Beach, NC, and Kevin S. Davenport of Greenville, NC,. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Harris Family Cemetery, 16272 Hwy 32 North, Pinetown, NC behind the Davenport home.

    The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Hillside Funeral Service. Friends are also invited to join them at the home immediately following the service on Saturday. Flowers are welcomed and memorial contributions may be directed to the family in care of Linda and Wayne Davenport, 16272 Hwy 32 North, Pinetown, NC. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, NC has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Whitesell / Davenport families.
