    Betty Joyce Ward Jenkins, 78, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016.

    A native of Beaufort County, NC, Betty was born March 7, 1938 to the late Denby and Lillian Jackson Ward. Betty was the manager of Popes Family Center from 1983-1985, manager of Super K Jewelry Department from 1985-1998, and worked for the Wake County School System from 1998-2005. Her family was the love of her life, especially her grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her friends.

    Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 1pm in the McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel, 12830 US Highway 70 Business West, Clayton, NC. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:45 at the funeral home. Burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park will follow.

    She is survived by her children, Roger Jenkins Jr. and fiancé, Rena Pisani, David Jenkins and wife, Tonya, Joyce Jenkins and fiancé, Louis Jordan, and Kelly Jenkins and fiancé, Heather Benson; grandchildren, Brad Herring, Ashton Jenkins, Jordan Jenkins, Victoria Jenkins, Zach Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins, Peyton Jenkins and Noah Benson; sisters, Frances Latham and Gail Windley; and a brother John Ward.

    Arrangements are by McLaurin Funeral Home.
