Vera T. Weston | Eastern NC Now

    Vera Belva Toler Weston, age 96, a former resident of Blounts Creek, NC, died Wednesday April 27, 2016 at Ridgewood Manor in Washington.

    A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday April 30, 2016 at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ and will be officiated by Kent Gurganus. Burial will follow in the Weston Family Cemetery in Blounts Creek. Michael Weston, Rod Weston, Kaleb Weston, Geoffrey Weston, Larry Rowe and Chris Sireci will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Weston was born in Beaufort County on October 7, 1919 to the late Joshua Louis Toler and Eva Malisa Bell. On February 1, 1938 she married Johnie Bryan Weston who preceded her in death on September 27, 2007. They enjoyed 69 years of a very special love for each other. She spent her life serving the Lord and was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ.

    Survivors include a son Phil Weston and wife Judy of Blounts Creek, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Ione Whitford of Chocowinity, and a daughter-in-law, Patsy B. Weston of Blounts Creek.

    She is preceded in death by a son Durwood Weston, two daughters Catherine W. Tyer, infant Alice Faye Weston, seven brothers, and ten sisters.

    The family will receive friends Saturday April 30, 2016 at Elizabeth Chapel Church of Christ from 10:00am until the funeral hour.
