Steve Alligood | Eastern NC Now

    Steve Alligood, age 69, a resident of Washington, NC, died Thursday May 5, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday May 8, 2016 at Alligood Church of God and will be officiated by Pastor Philip Jethro.

    Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort County, NC on May 24, 1946 to the late Levin W. Alligood and Sadie Elizabeth Woolard. On September 11, 1965 he married the former Marion A. Mayo. He worked for B. E. Singleton & Sons as a dredge operator for 18 years. At one time, Mr. Alligood also owned his own logging and trucking business. He enjoyed fishing and liked to play music and was in several bands. Mr. Alligood attended Alligood Church of God.

    Survivors include his wife, Marion M. Alligood; four children, Gwen Jones, Marci Murdock and husband Lee, Levin Alligood, Kevin Alligood and wife Dawn, all of Washington; ten grandchildren, Jackson Carawan, Alexis Murdock, Cameron Murdock, Megan Murdock, Hayley Jones, Seth Jones, Nick Jones, Emily Buck, Ella Alligood, Cooper Alligood; one brother, Levin Alligood, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by seven brothers, Laurice, Orvie, Brown, Grice, Thurman, Ben and Bonnie.

    The family will receive friends from 7:00pm until 8:30pm Saturday May 7, 2016 at the Alligood Church of God.
