Peggy P. Hudson | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Peggy Neal Pickard Hudson, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC died Sunday June 19, 2016 at her home.

    Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Yeatesville Cemetery and will be conducted by Dr. Burke Holland and Rev. Ed Drew. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

    Mrs. Hudson was born on May 29, 1934 in Alamance County to the late Henry and Charlene Hinshaw Pickard. On April 29, 1961 she married Norwood J. Hudson who preceded her in death on June 16, 2006. She was a 1952 graduate of E.M. Holt High School, received an Associate Degree and Diploma for Cosmetology from Beaufort County Community College. She was employed as a hairdresser for many years and attended Pantego Christian Church.

    Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Neal Duckett of Globe, AZ, Beth Hudson Williard and husband Norman of Belhaven, one son, Norwood Jennings Hudson, Jr. of Apple Valley, CA, two brothers, Bud Pickard of Supply, NC, Phil Pickard of Mt. Airy, NC, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

    The family would like to acknowledge the caregivers who showed so much compassion during a difficult time; Hillary Dawson, R.N., Barbara Williams, and Faith Hardison of Asera Care; Peggy Wesson, Tarsha Spruill, Danette Speller, Angela Ross, Libby Blount, and Towanda Johnson. A special thank you to Trudy Hardison, as well. She is a special friend and family member.
