Obituary: Ronald E. Hopkins | Eastern NC Now

    Ronald E. Hopkins, age 63, a resident of Ballard Street, Chocowinity, N.C., died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

    A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at 15th Street Church of God in Washington, N.C. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

    Mr. Hopkins was born in Norfolk, Va., the son of the late Mack William Hopkins Sr. and Eva Gray Wells Hopkins. Ronald worked as a painter most of his life. He worked with Bell’s Painting for a number of years. He had many friends and enjoyed his life and time spent with his family and friends.

     Ronald is survived by two grandchildren, Darrow Hopkins Buck and Jordan Hopkins, both of Bayboro, N.C., and one great-grandchild, Braxton Wallace Buck. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Eugene Hopkins, a brother, Mack William Hopkins Jr., and a sister Gloria Hopkins Jones.
