Wilma G. Boyd | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Wilma Goodwin Boyd, age 92, a resident of 400 E. 15th St., Washington, died Friday September 23, 2016 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Washington.

    Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday September 26, 2016 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Rev. Carol Steffa and Rev. Jacob W. Kines, Jr. Rob Downs, Jeffrey Boyd, Bill Mac Alligood and Wayne Leggett will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Boyd was born in Pamlico County on April 9, 1924 to the late William and Mary Dixon Goodwin. She was a 1942 graduate of Alliance High School and on May 14, 1949 she married Jesse Reginald Boyd who survives. She was a member of First Christian Church where she served in many roles throughout the years.

    Survivors include her husband Jesse Reginald Boyd of the home, two sons, Gary Boyd of Washington, Doug Boyd and wife Mary of Washington; two grandsons, Jeffrey Boyd and Rob Downs and wife, Cali and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret G. Smith of Morehead City and Jean G. Rowe of Paoli, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Goodwin.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday September 25, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
