Freeboot Friday Welcomes ECU Pirate Club | Eastern North Carolina Now

    GREENVILLE, N. C.     Freeboot Friday, the official pep rally of home football games, kicks-off the ECU football weekend on Friday, September 30 at 5:00pm, at Five Points Plaza. The event features the East Carolina University Pirate Club and music by Painted Man.

    Painted Man showcases a vast range of sounds with their soulful performances. Based out of Myrtle Beach/Florence, SC, their repertoire of music encompasses many genres varying from Michael Jackson and Prince to Led Zeppelin and Queen. They bring a uniqueness that breaks the status quo of the average band, while offering the timeless elements of music, both modern and classic.

    Thanks to the Pirate Club, Freeboot attendees will be treated a visit from ECU Head Football Coach Scottie Montgomery, Athletic Director, Jeff Compher, Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Lebo, Women's Basketball Coach Heather Macy and PeeDee the Pirate, the ECU Cheerleaders and the men's and women's basketball teams. In addition there will be a Pirate Club section to welcome Pirate Club fans to celebrate ECU football, Freeboot style! Greenville Utilities Commission will provide free bucket truck rides to Pirate Fans. Uptown Greenville welcomes Pirate Nation to join in the celebration at Five Points Plaza and cheer on the home team!


    Program details include:

  • 5pm: Event begins, Painted Man
  • 5:10pm: Coach Scottie Montgomery, Jeff Compher, and J. Batt take the stage.
  • 6:15pm: Meet the Coaches, Tee Shirt Toss, Sponsorship Shout-out
  • 6:30pm: Painted Man
  • 8pm: Strike of event begins

    The Sup Dogs Game Day Shuttle services run game days from the Uptown district to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The shuttle will run three hours prior, during, and two hours post game for each home game, including Thursday game days. Shuttle route information can be found here. Tailgating is prohibited in the municipal parking lots, while supporting Uptown
