    Mrs. Betty Gray Cox Roberson Waters, age 86, a resident of 887 Horse Pen Swamp Rd., Washington, died Wednesday September 28, 2016 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

    Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday October 1, 2016 at Snowd Branch Church of God and will be conducted by Rev. Jack Holloman and Rev. Jerry Waters. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Steve Cox, Danny Jackson, Dennis Roberson, Heber Cox, Joe Knox and Ed Dixon will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Waters was born December 4, 1929 in Beaufort County to the late Heber and Bettie Lou Everett Cox. She was a graduate of Washington High School and was a cashier with Rose's for over 15 years. On June 6, 1947 she married Ray Roberson who preceded her in death on March 7, 1984. She then married John E. Waters on May 29, 1993 he preceded her in death on December 28, 2002. Mrs. Waters was a member of Snowd Branch Church of God for 63 years and her family said she was the greatest prayer warrior they have ever known.

    Survivors include one son, Donald Roberson of Bear Grass, two daughters, Ellen Roberson Buck and husband Leonard of Washington, Patricia Roberson Hammonds and husband Mike of Washington, four grandchildren, Michelle Buck Barringer and husband Ron, Jennifer Lynn Buck, Angie Ormond Howlett and husband Jason, Michael Ray Ormond and wife Nicole, and five great grandchildren, Savannah Davenport, Braxton Davenport, Aurora Barringer, Kane Ormond and Axel Ormond. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray Roberson, two brothers and two sisters.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm Friday September 30, 2016 at Snowd Branch Church of God and other times at the home of her daughter Ellen R. Buck, 1005 Horse Pen Swamp Rd., Washington.
