    John Jacob "Jake" Stauffer, Jr., age 83, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Travis Boyd.

    Jake was born in Pitt County, NC on November 22, 1932 to the late John Jacob Stauffer and Clyde Lucas Stauffer. He was a graduate of Greenville High School. Jake received his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in Construction from North Carolina State. On March 19, 1967 he married Patricia Ann Owens and was married for 49 years. He was the owner of Jake's CB Center. Jake was also a member of First Christian Church.

    Survivors include his wife, Patricia O. Stauffer, two children, John Jacob Stauffer, III, and wife Tanya of Cary, Joanie Stauffer Sewell of Alpharetta, GA, three step daughters, Deborah Paul Stanford and husband John of Cordova, Susan Paul Bullen of Reston, VA, Jennifer Paul Collins of Simpson, one sister, Dorothy Paschal of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
