    Mr. Rhonda Berl Respess, age 65, a resident of Pantego, NC died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his residence.

    Rhonda was born August 5, 1951 in Belhaven, NC to the late Jennette Ricks Respess and Berl Bowen Respess. He graduated from Pantego High School in 1969 and attended the Ag Program at NC State University. On September 17, 1971 he married the love of his life the former Trudy Sterrenberg. Rhonda was a farmer retiring in 2016 and a member of New Hope Church of Christ in Pantego, NC.

    Survivors include his wife Trudy Respess of the home, one son, Macon Berl Respess and wife Mary Beth, one daughter, Stacy Respess Jones and husband Chris, one granddaughter, Kasey Catherine Jones, two grandsons, Charlie Berl Jones and Bowen Berl Respess all of Pantego, NC, two sisters, Shannon Respess Ellis and Jennifer Respess Eason both of Macclesfield, NC. A celebration of his life will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Pungo Christian Academy in Belhaven, NC where he was a loyal supporter and former chairman of the board. Burial will follow in Yeastsville Cemetery in Pinetown, NC.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Dempsey Ange, Chuck Williams, Lee Allen, Elwood Sprouse, Charles White, Stuart Ricks, J.B. Reid, and George Jefferson. Honorary Pallbearers will be : George Respess, Casey Allen, Will Respess, Tanner Eason, Eric Allen, Michael Cutler, and David Cox. The family will receive friends from 1:30p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the school, and other times at the home.
