Douglas "Doug" Reid Spencer II | Eastern NC Now

    Douglas "Doug" R. Spencer II, age 33, a resident of Beech Ridge Road, Belhaven, NC passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Hillside Funeral Service from 6 to 8 PM and other times at the home. A Celebration of his Life will be held Sunday, November 20, 2011 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service at 2 PM, officiated by Pastor Curtis White. Charles Crites, Erick Jennings, Rachel McCormick, Stephan McCormick, Angie Smith and Darren Smith will serve as pallbearers. The family will also receive friends following the service.

    Doug was born on October 12, 1978 in Pitt County, son of Douglas Reid Spencer and Shirley Stokesberry Spencer, who survive. He was a 1997 graduate of Northside High School. He graduated from Beaufort County Community College with an associate's degree in Environmental Science. Doug was a full-time student at Wake Tech Community College, hoping to pursue a degree in Bio Pharmaceutical Technology.

    In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by one sister, Sara Spencer McCarn and husband, Paul, of Kinston, NC.

    He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Rachel Harris Stokesberry and paternal grandmother Myrtle Spencer Rose and his paternal grandfather, Douglas Spencer.
