    Vernon Leon Cahoon, age 73, a resident of Belhaven, NC died Saturday November 5, 2016 at his home.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday November 10, 2016 at Belhaven Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be officiated by Medford Hopkins. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery.

    Mr. Cahoon was born in Beaufort County on April 29, 1943 to the late Walter Leon and Josephine Woolard Cahoon. On December 18, 2015 he married Louise Foreman who survives.

    In addition to his wife Louise F. Cahoon, survivors include, four sons, Toby Cahoon and wife Julie of Plymouth, Timmy Cahoon and wife Sheila of Belhaven, Patrick Cahoon and wife Mariela of Washington, Billy Cahoon of Florida, three step daughters, Cheyenne Swindell of the home, Brandi Foster, Kaela Foster both of Pantego, sixteen grandchildren, two brothers, Luke Cahoon of Rocky Mount, Lindsey Cahoon of Washington, two sisters, Marian Everette of Bath, and Carion Barr of Chocowinity, several nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Cahoon on August 1, 1991 and a brother Sherman Cahoon.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 112 W. Fire Tower Road, Winterville, NC 28590.
