    Mrs. Joyce Ann Silverthorne Winstead, age 77, a resident of 50 Country Lane, Washington, died Monday, November 14, 2016 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.

    Mrs. Winstead was born in Beaufort County on March 20, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Roy Frederick Silverthorne and Florence Smith Silverthorne. She was a retired Store Room Clerk at Beaufort County Hospital and a loving mother and friend. In her spare time, Mrs. Winstead enjoyed ceramics, cooking and shopping.

    Mrs. Winstead was a loving wife to Warner Keith Winstead, who preceded her in death on January 31, 2013.

    Mrs. Winstead is survived by her daughter, Earlene Peede and husband, Mike of Washington; step granddaughter, Stephanie Burford of Washington; one sister, Janet Silverthorne Ingalls of Washington; brother and sister in law, Dennis and Joyce Winstead of Washington; sister in law, Ellen Silverthorne of Winterville; nieces, Tammy LaVictoire and husband, Robert of Washington, Gina Wooten of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Michelle Woolard of Washington; nephews, Tony Ingalls and Joey Winstead both of Washington, Roy Silverthorne III of Winterville; and two step grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Winstead was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Frederick Silverthorne, Jr. and nephew, Wayne Ingalls.
