    Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Albertson Kilby, age 92, a resident of 64 Clarendon Avenue, Bath, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home.

    Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Bayview Cemetery at Bayview, conducted by Craig Godley.

    Mrs. Kilby was born in Beaufort County on May 1, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Louis Albertson and Nola Godley Albertson. Mrs. Kilby was a homemaker. Before moving to Bath, she lived in Chesapeake, Va. and attended Arbor Grove Baptist Church. In her spare, Mrs. Kilby loved gardening and cooking.

    Mrs. Kilby was married to Rufus William Kilby, who preceded her in death, May 22, 1996.

    She is survived by three sons, Rufus William Kilby, Jr. and wife, June of Bath, Ronald B. Kilby and wife, Frankie of Bayview, Jim Sawyer of Virginia; a daughter, Retha Pearl Furlough and husband, Charles of Roper; a brother, Albert Ray Albertson; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kilby was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Gurley and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends at the home.
