Died: March 26, 2017

    Mrs. Melda Virginia Morris Hudnell, age 92, a resident of 275 Campbell Lane, Belhaven, NC died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at her home.

    A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Mt. Olive Church of Christ Cemetery, Belhaven. The service will be officiated by Pastor David Pierce. Pallbearers will be Clay Harris, Dustin Hudnell, Danny Marslender, Paul Andrews, Josh Hopkins and Brock Eakes.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven and other times at the home.

    Mrs. Hudnell was born in Hyde County on July 8, 1924 daughter of the late Noah Willis Morris and the late Dena Seleste Simmons. She was a graduate of the old Belhaven High School. On December 27, 1945, she married Lloyd Earl Hudnell who preceded her in death on January 18, 2002. She served her family as a homemaker and her husband as co-owner/operator of Lloyd's Custom Meat Cutting of the Ponzer Community of Belhaven. Mrs. Hudnell was a member of Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two sons: Bill Hudnell and his wife Elaine of Belhaven and Rodney Hudnell and his companion Sharon Forbes of Winterville; two daughters: Ginger Windley and her husband Ricky of Belhaven and Karan Hudnell of Belhaven; a brother: Bernard Elloitt Morris of Bath; a sister: Anne Dean Mason of Macon, GA; eight grandchildren: Kellie Harris Hopkins and her husband Josh, Dana Kaye Andrews and her husband Paul, Karan Harris Marslender, Julie Elaine Whaley, Eric Clay Harris and his wife Jennifer, Susan Elizabeth Eakes and her husband Brock, Deannie Lea Hudnell and Dustin Earl Hudnell and his wife Amanda; nineteen great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Mrs. Hudnell was preceded in death by six brothers.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Belhaven, NC 27810.
