David Simmons Mann | Eastern NC Now

    David Simmons Mann, age 45, a resident of 7820 Piney Woods Road, Fairfield, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at UHS-Pungo Hospital in Belhaven.

    Born July 28, 1966, in Beaufort County, he was the son of Richard L. Mann Jr. and Betty Simmons Mann who survive. David was a special needs son who brought love and happiness to his family and touched many lives.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery. Steve Bryan will officiate.

    In addition to his parents, David is survived by two brothers, Richard Lee Mann III and wife Shelly, and Thomas W. Mann and wife Sue, all of Fairfield; a sister, Darlene M. Parent and husband Kent of Hendersonville; nieces and nephews, Demock Mann, Brittany Mann Blizzard, Tyler Mann, Alex Payne, Richard Mann IV, Wyatt Mann, BoLee Mann, Kendal P. Dobra, Tessa Parent, Taron Parent, Jessie Parent, Thomas W. Mann II and Taylor M. Mann.

    David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard L. and Murray Swindell Mann, and his maternal grandparents, Joseph L. and Maxine Boomer Simmons.

    The family suggests that memorials be directed to Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department, 6680 Highway 94, Fairfield, or Pungo District Hospital Foundation, 202 E. Water St., Belhaven NC 27810.
