Francis D. Everhart | Eastern NC Now

Born: July 29, 1925, Died: May 6, 2017

    Francis Delmar Everhart (aka "Grandy" to his grandsons), age 91, of Washington (Rosedale), formerly of Whiteville, NC and Rockingham, NC, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2017.

    A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Second Baptist Church, Washington, conducted by Pastor John Koch.

    Mr. Everhart was born on July 29, 1925 in Martinsburg, WV to the late Leon Pendleton and Bertie Catherine Stuckey Everhart. He graduated from Martinsburg High School and North Carolina State University, served in the Air Force, and retired as Director of Technical Services from National Spinning. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.

    Mr. Everhart is survived by a daughter, Susan Everhart Parker and her husband, Jim, of

    Pickerington, Ohio; two grandsons, Justin Parker and wife, Abbie-Aiko of Washington; Jameson Parker and wife, Meghan of Hilliard, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Rosemary Parker of Hilliard, Ohio; two brothers, Don Everhart and wife, Dot, of Martinsburg, WV; Glen Everhart and wife, Barbara, of North Port, FL; and sister, Phyllis Cheshier of Ft. Smith, AR.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Everhart was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Evelyn Gaskins Everhart; two brothers, Leon Everhart, Jr. of St. Paul, MN; Steve Everhart of Richmond, VA; and a sister, Sara Swain of Hamburg, NJ.

    The family would like to extend a special thanks to his nurse, David Whichard, for the excellent care he provided.
