    A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington. The family will receive friends following the service at the home.

    Mr. Ball was born in Beaufort County on August 20, 1947, son of the late Benton Lester Ball and the late Augusta Estelle Chauncey Ball. On October 13, 1967, he married the former Doris Dee Dixon who survives. He retired from Mason Lumber Company of Washington as a millwright. Mr. Ball loved the outdoors, nature and hunting. He was a member of the Cow Horn Hunting Club and Horse Pen Swamp Hunting Club.

    Surviving along with his wife Doris of the home are two daughters: Wendy Ball and her boyfriend Bryan Keith Mayo and Tracy Ball all of Washington; a son: Troy L. Ball, Jr. of Washington; three sisters: Nellie Liverman and her husband Graham of Chaptico, MD, Betty Frances Davenport of Columbia and Jeanette Whitehead and her husband Jim of Wichita, KS; a brother: Lee Taylor Ball, Sr. and his wife Ramona of Washington and nine grandchildren: Kimberly Dawn Ball, Joshua Wayne Ball, Justin Thomas Ball, Makenzi Grace Ball, Wyatt Tate Ball, identical twin grandsons Luke Jennings Askew and Aaron Lane Askew, Ted Man and Dinkie Ball. Mr. Ball was predeceased by two sisters: Lola May Cox and her husband David and Annie Laura Harrell and her husband Gilbert.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to the Troy Ball Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.
