Anna Moore Mason | Eastern NC Now

    Ms. Anna Moore Mason, age 91, a recent resident of Washington, NC and a former life-long resident of Bath, NC died Friday, September 22, 2017 at her residence.

    A native of Beaufort County, Ms. Mason was the daughter of the late Mary Bailey Moore and Roy Moore. She married the love of her life, Archie Boyd Mason on April 15, 1955 who preceded her in death in1971. She remained faithful to his memory for the rest of her life.

    In addition to her parents and husband she was also predeceased by one brother, Roy Moore, Jr in 2002. Ms. Mason was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School. She worked for Thomas and Howard Company of Washington, NC and later worked as bookkeeper for Rumley Motor Supplies, Inc for 32 years, retiring in 1996.

    She was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Claires Church of Christ, Bath, NC and a Charter Member of the Pam-Le-Ko Book Club of Bath, NC.

    She is survived by two sons who were the joy of her life: William Gary Mason and significant other Hesta Moore of Bath, NC and Keith Boyd Mason, Sr and wife Elizabeth "Doogie" Hodges Mason whom she loved dearly, of Washington, NC.Her two grandchildren were her pride and joy: Keith Boyd Mason, Jr of St. Petersburg, FL and Adam Archie Mason and fiancée Kassie Sasnett of Washington, NC. Also surviving is one nephew, Roy Moore, III, of Las Cruces, NM one niece, Patti Joslin of Phoenix, AZ, her "special children": Blount Rumley and Mimi Rumley Jakubowski.

    A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Mason family plot in Oakdale Cemetery with Pastor Craig Hagen officiating and Pastor Norman Miller assisting. The family will receive friends Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service.

    The family will also receive friends at the home of Keith and Elizabeth (Doogie) Mason, 110 Fairway Drive, Washington, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the charity of one's choice. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, NC has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Mason family.
