William “Billy” Metrue Daniels III | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Mr. William "Billy" Metrue Daniels III, age 59, a resident of Belhaven, NC died Tuesday November 7, 2017 at his home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 12, 2017 at Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill officiated by Pastor Dean Fulford. Pallbearers will be D.J. Keech, Chris Daniels, Randall Moore, Christopher Hudnell, Jr., Donnie Keech, John Caldwell, Clay Chauncey and Dwayne Hopkins. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Hudnell, Sr.

    The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.

    Mr. Billy was born in Middlesex County, MA on February 1, 1958 son of William Metrue Daniels, Jr. and Theresa Lemay Daniels. He was a graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School in Belhaven and pursued a career as a self-employed commercial fisherman. Billy loved his family and was a huge sports fan who was a true UNC Tar Heel through and through. Although he had no children of his own Billy had five nieces and nephews who he loved as his own children.

    Survivors include his parents: William M. Daniels, Jr. and Theresa L. Daniels of the home; two sisters: Margie Keech and her husband Donnie of Belhaven and Sheila Moore and her husband John Caldwell of Belhaven and his five nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only brother: Gary Daniels.
