Just Because I am Paranoid

It does not mean they are not out to get me

If you not part of the FBI, Justice Department, former Obama administration or anyone who has ever spoken to Bill or Hillary Clinton, all your on line search, phone calls, emails, text messages and web visits are in a giant database owned by Google, AT&T. Verizon, Amazon or who knows what other companies. Every thing you do with a smartphone is saved somewhere. Of course everywhere you go is probably also saved on some computer by the traffic and security cameras that are on almost every pole or building.

Now, I have heard it said that if you are not doing anything wrong you should not be worried about any of this stuff stored about you.  Well, I maintain that my mom was right when she constantly told me to be sure to wear clean underwear in case I was ever in an accident. I also remember a routine by Bill Cosby (yes that one) where he said if he were in an accident his underwear would not be clean after the accident. Maybe he should have stuck to comedy instead of his other passtime.

Now I will admit that I may be paranoid (see above), and I do have a healthy fear of my every action captured on some electronic device.  I enjoy using technology to help me remember things.  My recent Christmas gift was an Amazon Echo / Alexa, which I can use to keep a shopping list.  All I have to do is Say "Alexa add toilet paper to my shopping list" See below:

After a complete and through search on line (which I am sure was captured by Google) I found one solution to maintaining my privacy. It seems that there is a search engine that promises not to track your searches. It is DuckDuckgo and they promise not to track you right on the first page.

Here is a link to the website. It is a real search engine and I have switched to it instead of Google. DuckDuckgo website

I feel so much better now that someone on the internet has promised not to track me.

Cookies anyone?
