    Mr. Ira Olin Whealton Jr., age 77, a resident of 655 Harding Lane, Chocowinity, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at his home.

    Memorial services will be 11:00 am Monday February 12, 2018 at Memorial Free Will Baptist Church and will be conducted by Rev. Chuck Owens.

    Mr. Whealton was born in Pamlico County on April 10, 1940 to the late Ira and Avis Richardson Whealton. On July 23, 1971 he married Lou Ann Harding who survives. He was a 1958 graduate of Pamlico County High School, retired from Hamilton Beach with 20 years of service and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include his wife Lou Ann Whealton of the home, two daughters, Patti Whealton Alleman of Chocowinity, Angie Ramsey of Chocowinity, two sons, Robert Earl Whealton and wife Valerie of Chocowinity, Tim Whealton and wife Gayle of Chocowinity, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Bodie Alleman, three brothers and one sister.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
