    Dorothy Marie Oden Parker "Dot" entered into a peaceful sleep on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Vidant Cancer Center in Greenville, NC.

    She was born on March 23, 1950 in Washington, NC to the late Neva Pearl Sadler Oden and the late Elijah Oden. Dot received her education at PS Jones Segregated School of Washington, NC. At an early age, Dot became a member of Washington Height Church of God. Dot was employed most of her life as a cook at Keri Kwik and Washington County Club until she became unable to work due to declining health.

    Dot was preceded in death by her daughter, Neva Marie Oden, her twin grandchildren, Shania and Malik Jenkins and a brother, Ray Oden. Dot was well known as Ms. Dot, Aunt Dot, or MADEA to everyone.

    Dot leaves to cherish her loving memories three loving children, Steven Oden (Rosa) of Baltimore, MD, Yolanda Oden-Parker of Washington, NC and Juanita Oden Jenkins of Hampton, VA. Three sisters, Sylvia Guilford of Washington, NC, Betty Barr (Wayne) of Chocowinity, NC and Theresa King (Butler) of Washington, NC. Three brothers, Willie and Dennis Oden of Washington, NC and Mack Oden of Raleigh, NC.

    Dot also leaves to cherish her memories six wonderful grandchildren, Shonnita McIver of Washington, NC, Christopher Albritton of Hampton, VA, Charmaine and Jayla Oden of Baltimore, MD, Ty'Keis Blount of Washington, NC and Jamari Blount of Hampton, VA. One handsome great grandson, Kaiden Foreman-McIver of Washington, NC. One aunt, Mary Sadler of Washington, NC and one uncle, Vernon Sadler Jr. (Nancy) of Grimesland, NC. Her ex-husband and friend, Curtis Parker. She had two sisters in kind, Joe (Baby Joe) Midgette of Belhaven, NC and Diane Williams of Washington, NC. Four daughters in kind, Anna Marie (ReRe) Clark, Tawanda Blount of Hampton, VA, Ann (Candi) Perry and Tamika Holloway. Two special friends, Teresa Blount and Rosalind (Cupcake) Satchell. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all her Washington Youth Basketball League (WYBL) family.
