    Cynthia M. Kapustka Phillips, 59, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2018, with her family by her side.

    She was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Philip and Juanita Kapustka. She is also predeceased by her siblings, John and Barry Kapustka and Sheila Murphy. She was a care giver by nature and profession, who was loved by many. She was known for her big open heart and love of animals. She was a person who thought of others before herself and will be missed dearly by the lives she touched.

    If one knew her, she was someone who made a difference. Losing her is an emotion that is unexplainable. She was a lover by heart and a fighter in spirit making her the best woman you could ever know. She lived for her kids and grandkids by loving and keeping them safe. Now God has called upon her to be at peace and no longer suffer by joining her family in heaven. Our angel will forever watch over us from the stars.

    Cynthia is survived by her daughters, Jessica Kapustka of Grimesland, NC, Rachel Collier (Chris) of Norfolk, VA; son, Travis Kapustka of Elizabeth City, NC; brother, Steve Kapustka (Trish) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Juanita Kapustka and Christeen, Jeremy and Keith Collier; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
