    William David Cox Jr, 56, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018.

    He was born to the late Patricia Eakes and William David Cox Sr. in Tarboro, NC. He is also predeceased by his daughter, Michele Lea Cox. He was very accomplished in high school. He was a football player for the Chocowinity Indians, Vice President FFA with awards in Star Greenhand, Chapter Farmer Degree and State Farmer Degree, Vice President of VICA, and was a member of the Science Club, Pep Club, JETS, Tool Judging Team, Winning Soil Judging Team, Forestry Team, Livestock Judging, Parliamentary Procedure Team and ICT. He also worked night shifts before graduating from Chocowinity High School. After graduating, he contributed to building the first brand of privateer boat, co-owned a carpet company, worked for the Coca-Cola Company, worked for ERA after getting his real estate license, sold modular homes in Greenville, NC and sold cars too.

    William is survived by his wife, Lora Darlene Cox; daughter, Christina Hardison and husband, Brandon; brothers, Joe Cox and wife, Patricia, Robert Cox and wife, Susan and James Earl Cox and wife, JoAnn; nieces, Ashley Watson and husband, Brad, Jamie Lynn and Jennifer; and nephews, Austin, Jake, TJ, Casey and AJ.

    William's visitation and memorial service will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 6:00-8:00p in Hillside Funeral Service. The family may receive visitors at the home at other times. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family are greatly appreciated.
