Died: December 14, 2018

    Mrs. Dorothy Louise Rutledge Dixon, age 86 a resident of the Clark's Neck Community in Washington, died Friday December 14, 2018 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

    A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday December 17, 2018 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be officiated by Rev. Adron Modlin.

    Mrs. Dixon was born on March 18, 1932 in Amelia County, VA to the late Walter Bernice Rutledge and Mattie E. Westmoreland. On February 10, 1949, she married Jesse Gerome Dixon, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 10, 2001. She attended Old Ford School and Washington Assembly of God.

    Survivors include a daughter, Lydia D. Clark and husband Jesse of Washington, four sons, Danny Dixon and wife Leigh of Louisburg, Bryan Dixon and wife Tina of Washington, Jerome Dixon of Greenville, Drew Dixon and wife Melody of Washington, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a brother Wilburn Rutledge of Washington.

    She was preceded in death by a son, Walter David Dixon and three brothers, Aldeen Rutledge, Dewitt Rutledge, and William Rutledge.

    The family will receive friends at the home of Bryan Dixon, 5011 Clark's Neck Road, Washington, NC 27889.
