The Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners Will Meet to Discuss the County's Business

    The Government of Beaufort County meets every month for at least one General Meeting to discuss and act on the county's business. Beaufort County employs the County Manager Form of Government, which stipulates that the board of county commissioners allow the county manager to set the agenda, and bring issues before them.

     This meeting is the beginning of the busiest time for the Board of Beaufort County Cmmissioners, and to christen the beginning of this period County Manager Paul Spruill will present his recommended budget for FY 2011. This will initiate the process of budget work shops and the deliberation that is necessary to construct a county budget that will provide the government that will provide the structure to dispense the essential services that is our charge as your government, as its taxing authority.

    Tax Assessor Bobby Parker will also provide the county commissioners with an Equalization and Review schedule that deals specifically with those citizens, who wish to challenge the county's appraisal of their property's ad valorem value. At these scheduled meetings, the county commissioners, serving as commissioners of the Board of Equalization and Review, will hear their plea.
