    Mr. Luther "Luke" Dale Cahoon, age 70, a resident of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday December 1, 2019 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital.

    Memorial services will be held at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington on Friday, December 6, 2019. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM. The funeral is to be conducted by Pastor Jeff Holden and Pastor David Pierce.

    Mr. Cahoon was born May 19, 1949 in Beaufort County to the late Walter and Josephine Woolard Cahoon. He was a 1968 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in law enforcement for many years serving others in the line of duty until he retired in 2015. Mr. Cahoon faithfully attended Eagles Baptist Church in Crisp where he thoroughly enjoyed fellowship with his church family.

    Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Carol G. Cahoon, four daughters, Stacey Moore and husband Ed of Chocowinity, Tanya Reesman and husband Dennis of Arvada, CO, Bonnie Landeck and husband Jeremy of Pinetown, Mandi Cahoon and fiancé Duke Day of Washington and two step daughters, Alisa Steeley and husband James of Macclesfield, Jennifer Page of Rocky Mount, one step son, Jason Page of Macclesfield, one brother, Lindsey Cahoon of Bath, two sisters, Carion Barr and Steve of Chocowinity, Marion Everett and husband Donald of Bath, nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his beloved furbaby companion, Mollie. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Cahoon and Vernon Cahoon.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beaufort County DAV, Chapter 48, c/o Juanita White, 306 Helens Lane, Washington, NC 27889.
