    Raleigh, NC     As impeachment is taken up in the House today, it's hard not to notice the ongoing rift the issue is causing between the Democrat candidates in the North Carolina Senate race. While Erica Smith has taken a firm stance that President Trump should be impeached, Cal Cunningham has continuously dodged on the question. And not only is Cunningham afraid to take a position on impeachment, he also is attacking those who do, including Smith, for "rushing to judgement."

    "Cal Cunningham's windowless basement strategy of refusing to take a position on anything has cost him with his base and now, lagging behind Erica Smith in the polls, he is going after her when it comes to impeachment," said NCGOP spokeswoman Sasha Duncan. "As the House votes to impeach President Trump today, Cunningham should be asked whether he supports the vote or whether he will continue to criticize his Democrat opponent for doing so."

    Smith last night appeared at a rally in Raleigh and advocated for impeaching President Trump. Cunningham refused to attend.
