Grady Keech

December 9, 1934 - January 15, 2020
    Mr. Grady Leon Keech, age 85, a resident of 6135 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC died January 15, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.

    Mr. Grady was born in Beaufort County on December 9, 1934 son of the late Roy Sylvester Keech and the late Gladys Styles Keech. He attended Pantego High School. In June of 1955 he married the former Jean Marie Wilkins who preceded him in death on April 7, 2008. His love of the water was a determining factor for him to work in the tug boat industry and he retired as an engineer working with Maritrans Operating Company. In his spare time, he loved antique cars and taking trips on his trike motorcycle. Mr. Grady attended Free Union Free Will Baptist Church of Pinetown.

    Surviving are his children: Donnie L. Keech and his wife Margie of Belhaven, Shelia Keech of Washington, Perry Lee Keech of Washington and Rebecca K. Lewis of Henrico, NC; six grandchildren: Angela Hudnell, Susan Keech, D.J. Keech, Melissa Latham, Dale Latham and Wade Kirk and eleven great grandchildren. Mr. Grady was predeceased along with his parents and his wife by two sisters: Margaret Ambrose and Marilyn Smith.
