Mrs. Lena Beacham Wallace | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Lena Beacham Wallace, age 92, a resident of Autumnfield of Belhaven, and a former resident of 421 Wilkinson Station Road, Pantego, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Vidant Pungo Hospital of Belhaven.

   A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Belhaven Community Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jim Bussell.

   Mrs. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 26, 1919, daughter of the late Claude Beacham and the late Bertha Rauls Beacham. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On Dec. 23, 1942, she married Dennis Mayo Wallace Sr. who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1982. She was a homemaker who also worked various jobs within the Beaufort County School System. Mrs. Wallace also volunteered at Beaufort County Elementary School’s first grade reading program. She was a member of Pantego Christian Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Peggy W. Satterthwaite and husband Jim; and a son, Dennis M. Wallace Jr. and wife Doris, all of Pantego; three grandchildren, Tammy Brock, Amy Alligood and Erik Wallace; and six great-grandchildren, Kayla Alligood, Jamie Lynn Daniels, Layla Brock, Anneliese Wallace, Alexander Wallace and Anderson Wallace. Mrs. Wallace is predeceased by a grandson, Clint Wallace.

   The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

   Mrs. Wallace was blessed to receive excellent care and attention from the staff of Autumnfield and for that, the family will be forever grateful.
