    Mr. Mack Preston Hodges, Sr., age 94, a resident of Washington, NC died Saturday February 15, 2020 at his home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday February 17, 2020 at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville. The service will be officiated by Steve Hill.

    The family will receive friends at the home.

    Mr. Hodges was born in Pitt County on August 11, 1925 son of the late Mack C. Hodges and the late Nettie Ann Mobley Hodges. He attended Grimesland High School. After high school he served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. On December 7, 1946 he married the former Charlotte Marie Bland who preceded him in death on September 13, 2011. Mr. Hodges was the owner/operator of Generator & Starter of Washington. He loved fishing and mowing his lawn.

    Survivors include his children: Mack P. Hodges, Jr. (Becky) of Washington; a daughter: Linda Hodges Woolard (Roland) of Washington; a sister: Barbara Wingate of Ayden; four grandchildren: Jennifer Hodges (James Allen) of Washington, Michael P. Hodges (Amanda) of Washington, Derek A. Woolard (Connie) of Hampstead and Brad P. Woolard (Jennifer) of Washington; four great grandchildren: Chelsea Lilley (Bradley Smith) of Washington, Haley Hodges Modlin (Collin) of Alexandria, VA, Dylan Woolard of Greenville and Abigail Marie Hodges of Washington and a great great grandchild: Jackson Modlin of Alexandria. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
