    Ann Bowen Ward, 83, of Washington passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 following a brief illness.

    She was born on March 7, 1936 to Philip and Elizabeth Bowen of Long Acre, NC.

    Ann was the younger sister of Elsie "Hunter" Boyd of Pinetown who survives.

    Ann was married to Judge Hallett Sydney Ward, Jr. and mother to son Hallett Sydney Ward, III, who survives. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ward.

    Ann is also survived by her grandsons Hallett Sydney Ward, IV, and Philip Jamal Ward of Greensboro as well as many nieces and nephews.

    Memorial services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, February 29th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Washington, NC officiated by Priest Jim Horton.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The All Souls Memorial Fund at St. Peter's church at 101 North Bonner Street.

    The family would especially like to thank two wonderful caregivers, Monique German and Verniece Hawkins for their compassionate and tireless care for Ann during her last years.
