    Mr. Michael "Mike" David Canada, age 66, a resident of Williamston North Carolina passed away Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center.

    Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday June 27, 2020 at Maple Grove Christian Church 1500 Maple Grove Church Road, Jamesville, NC 27846 and will be conducted by Pastor Kurt Honican.

    Mr. Canada was born July 19, 1953 in Suffolk, Virginia to the late Cecil Edwin Canada and Ellen Kathleen Smith Canada. On June 12, 1976 he married Donna Anne Norwood who survives. He was a 1971 graduate of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, attended Chowan College, completed the Fish and Wildlife program at Wayne Community College and was a 1981 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a bachelor's degree in Biology. In 1984 he went to Federal Law Enforcement Training in Glynco, Georgia. He retired in 2015 as a Federal Wildlife Officer with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service after 39 years of service.

    Mr. Canada had a great love and passion for hunting, fishing, the outdoors and most of all, spending time with his five grandsons and his family.

    Survivors include his wife, Donna N. Canada of the home; daughter, Heather Canada Moore and husband Chris of Williamston; son, Heath Canada and wife Mary Louise of Cape Carteret; grandsons, Hunter Canada, Logan Lewis, Lucas Canada, Asher Canada, Charlie Moore and sisters, Susan VanHorn and husband Jessie of Chesapeake, Virginia and Linda Bogner and husband Bill of Fort Meyers, Florida.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mike & Donna's church, Christian Chapel Church of Christ, 4223 Wynn Road, Robersonville, NC 27871 or Bear Grass Fire Department, 7890 Bear Grass Road, Williamston, NC 27892.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday June 26, 2020 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 John Small Avenue, Washington, NC 27889.
