    January 12, 2022 - Publisher's note: Due to a publishing SNAFU, I have been remiss in my duties, here at BCN, regarding the proper categorization of county government publications; in particular, the Enhanced County Government Videos, begun August 1, 2019.

    Therefore, to thoroughly correct this miscue, I will make the proper categorical correction, and bring these archives forward beginning on January 12, 2022; mixing these historical patterns of fact in with the current news of our day.     At the July 6, 2020 general meeting of the Beaufort County Commissioners, a myriad of issues were discussed, including Beaufort County Health Director James Madson. Beginning with this July, 2020 Beaufort County Commissioners general meeting, BCN will feature the Health Director's address to commissioners, and the people of Beaufort County, especially now as the number of Covid cases have risen for a variety of factors.

    From these Beaufort County Commissioners' informative sessions with the Health Director, we may possibly gleem the evolving causes of Covid, and its collective debilitating effect upon the citizens of Beaufort County.

Latest Governing Beaufort County

The city council has only made two official acts as of February 16, 2026
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Government and its bureaucracy are not perfect, and never has been in this self-governed society, here at the local level, at our state level, and at our federal level, therefore, it is incumbent upon all elected politicians to seek a comfortable level of representation for our constituents.
Beaufort County is implementing a new emergency alert system. All residents are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts via phone and email.

Has the local government acted responsibly and transparently?
Beaufort County Commissioners meet, and work by a majority vote to do the business of those constituents they purport to represent.
Waste, fraud, abuse and incompetence continue to govern county school budgets and decision making.
