Stanley Hines Godley | Eastern NC Now

   Stanley Hines Godley, 53, a resident of 423 W. Main St., Apt. 201 (Buoy Tender Station), Washington, died Wednesday evening, June 13, 2012, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.

   A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, officiated by Steve Hill. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Jerry Calhoun, Norman Manning, Wayne Woolard, Mike Landon, Paul Moore, Bill Alton, Brian Ross and Todd Buckman will serve as pallbearers.

   Stanley was born in Beaufort County on Nov. 26, 1958, son of Doris Woolard Godley and the late Eli Hines Godley. Since 1988, he was employed with Weir Valves & Controls as a mechanical engineer. He was a graduate of Beaufort County Community College and was working toward his B.S. degree at East Carolina University. He taught engineering courses at BCCC, was a member of the ECU Pirates Club, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and loved flying and traveling.

   Stanley was a member of Unity Church of Christ and attended First Church of Christ in Washington.

   In addition to his mother, Doris Godley of the home, he is survived by his brother, Stuart Marshall Godley of Wilmington and long time companion, Janice Reynolds of New Bern. In addition to his father, Eli Hines Godley, Stanley is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Wayne Godley.

   The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
